We are seeking a Recovery Officer to join our busy Revenues & Benefits service.
You would be working within a small team responsible for the recovery of council tax, business rates, housing benefit and temporary accommodation costs. Your role will entail dealing with customer queries, carrying out means tests, deciding case by case the most effective means of recovery, negotiating and reviewing payment plans and identifying help where available. You will also provide support and assistance to the Senior Revenues & Benefits Officer (Recovery).
You must have a high standard of written English, previous office experience, including the use of Microsoft packages and a commitment to providing a quality service.
To be a part of the team you will need an understanding of socio-economic pressures, particularly in the current financial climate, and be able to demonstrate balanced reasoning. Experience in dealing with recovery of debt in a revenue and benefits environment would be an advantage.
