On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for interpreting appropriate legislation and regulations relating to Housing Benefit and the Local Council Tax Reduction Scheme. Excellent customer service and negotiating skills are essential, together with the ability to make decisions and provide assistance to other team members with complex cases.

This role also involves the preparation of cases and the representation of the Council in relation to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support appeals at the relevant independent tribunal hearing, presenting the case taking into account relevant regulations and case law.
