We are seeking a part-time Overpayment Recovery Assistant to join our busy Revenues & Benefits service.
You would be working within a small team responsible for the recovery of council tax, business rates, housing benefit and accommodation costs, your role will entail dealing with customer queries, carrying out means tests, negotiating and reviewing payment plans and identifying help where available. You will also support the Senior Revenues & Benefits Officer (Recovery) with tasks such as running and checking reports.
You must have a high standard of written English, previous office experience preferred, including the use of Microsoft packages and a commitment to providing a quality service.
To be a part of the team you will need an understanding of socio-economic pressures, particularly in the current financial climate, and be able to demonstrate balanced reasoning.
